Accessibility
This week we’ve been putting our new developer Jack through his paces as he and Lotti have met with various stakeholders to advise on accessibility issues. It’s been a bit of a dive into the deep end but he’s happily keeping afloat so far and has even started doing a few lengths of the web estate pool.
Lotti’s also been working with Lino to put together an accessible powerpoint template and with internal comms to plan how to spread the word on accessibility to the rest of the organisation.
Content
Hannah’s been sorting through content for waste and recycling, and working with Bhupinder on the service patterns library.
Meanwhile Caroline M has been working with Essex Effective Support to help them decide on the future of the site and whether this should form part of essex.gov.
She’s also been reviewing call centre data to see what this can help tell us about the performance of redesigned website content. She’s updated several pages in the Adult Social Care section on essex.gov in order to promote our Buy with Confidence scheme (local businesses that are approved by Trading Standards).
User Research
Julie has been exploring how we might show our gratitude to research participants. The team’s been brainstorming ideas that we can take forward into prototypes and trying to identify what types of research would warrant what level of gratitude.
They’ve have also begun thinking about phase 2 of our user testing with the ‘report it’ tool for highways and our timelines for when this research is likely to take place.
Team highlight
We had a great turnout for our monthly Show & Tell which gave everyone a chance to get involved and experience a few of the tasks from our rave reviewed Learnfest sessions.
